This a bit overdue, but I just wanted to say "See ya next year Wizards. Thanks for another season of mediocrity and first round expelling by the Cavaliers."
The Wizard bowed out of the playoffs this past Friday. With their season on the line and the home crowd at Verizon Center behind them, the Wizards actually played woeful basketball, losing by almost 30 points, 105-88.
Way to go boys. Thanks for nothing. Guess it took me a few days to digest. Or maybe they simply became an afterthought. I mean, honestly, who wants to give a team second thought after such a poor showing, when they essentially had the opportunity to force a Game 7 back in Cleveland OR ELSE hit the links for another off-season?
This guy. Sure they stunk up the joint on Friday, but now they a full 5.5 months to clear their minds, heal up, and prepare for next season. Just like they did the year before, the year before last, and the year before that . . .
At least the Redskins started mini-camp this past weekend with new coach Jim Zorn enthusiastically jumpstarting what promises to be a season of uncertainty for the team. Training camp is what, only 2.5 months away. I can live with that. Football is just around the corner, right? I wish.
