Watch the Birth of a Cow, View Bull Rodeos, and Ah, Swine Pig Racing!

Come on, it’s fair time…and where else can you watch the birth of a cow, see thoroughbred horseracing, cheer for your favorite professional bull rodeo rider, learn to milk a cow, and then there is always the swine pig racing! Ah, it’s fair time and you definitely don’t want to miss this year’s fun, food, and festivities.

The 127th annual Maryland State Fair runs from Friday, August 22 through Monday September 1 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. at the Timonium Fair Grounds in Baltimore County. Bring your family and friends—it’s great fun and you just might learn something new. Enjoy daily livestock exhibits and animal shows, midway rides and games, national entertainment, fun fair foods like corn dogs, cotton candy, corn-on-the-cob, and crab cakes, and plenty of fresh-from-the-farm fruits and veggies!

Here’s the schedule for this year’s great music lineup at the Racetrack Infield: 1964 The Beatles Tribute Show is Friday, August 22 with gates opening at 6:30 p.m. and the concert at 7:30 p.m.; 70s rock band, Foreigner appears Thursday, August 28, with gates opening at 5 p.m. and concert at 7:30 p.m., and country music sensations Travis Tritt and Keith Anderson appear Friday, August 29 with gates opening at 6 p.m., concert at 7 p.m.

One of last year’s favorite events was the Battle of the Beasts—a professional bull rodeo! Don’t miss it this year on Monday, August 25 at 7 p.m.

Insider Tips:

  • Avoid parking problems by using the Light Rail. It makes an easily accessible Fair Grounds stop right at the Cow Palace Gate.

  • An ATM machine is located in front of the 4-H Building and Exhibit Hall.
