Annapolis:

The Musical takes the stage at the Hippodrome Theatre in Baltimore this November 11–23. The tale told in rhyme follows the lonely Grinch who gets more than anticipated in his plot to steal Christmas from the Whos of Whoville. (410) 547-SEAT or www.france-merrickpac.com.

Hop in, the Water’s Fine
Test your mettle by taking a swim at Betterton Beach in the 3rd Annual Goose Bump Jump on Saturday, November 15, at noon. The event begins with a costume contest on the beach, follows with the ceremonious dunking of participants in the frigid waters of the Bay, and concludes with a pig roast. All proceeds benefit adults with developmental disabilities. Minimum pledge to participate in the jump is $25, and the pig roast costs $10 for nonjumpers. The Dukes of Dorchester
Cooter and the iconic “General Lee” car, both of Dukes of Hazzard fame, hightail it to this year’s Grand National Waterfowl Hunt in Cambridge’s Sailwinds Park at the Grandtastic Jamboree on Friday, November 21, beginning at 4 p.m. Presented by the Grand National Waterfowl Association, the evening includes performances by Cooter’s Garage Band; Barry Bales, bassist for bluegrass favorite Alison Krauss and Union Station; the Shore’s own Bird Dog Wheeler and the Road Kings; and an appearance by baseball standout Jeff Treadway. Dog Day Afternoons
Thousands of dogs will perform at the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center from November 7–9 during the Salisbury and Mispillion Kennel Club Dog Shows. Competitions and awards range in times throughout the weekend. Admission is $5 per day for adults and $1 per day for students. Mids vs. Irish in Charm City
For the first time in 44 years Navy will face Notre Dame with a bit of momentum. After more than four decades of frustration, Navy defeated Notre Dame last November 46–44 in triple overtime, ending the longest all-time college football consecutive wins streak by one team over another. This year, the two teams square off on November 15 at noon in Baltimore at M&T Bank Stadium, home of the Baltimore Ravens. For tickets, call (800) US4-NAVY or send an e-mail to tickets@usna.edu.
