A welcome reception for the captains and crews participating in Cambridge’s Schooner Rendezvous on Oct 24th at the Richardson Maritime Museum filled the venue as Governor O'Malley read an official proclamation declaring October "Schooner Month in Maryland".

Queen Anne’s County Business Showcase 2008 | Stevensville
Featuring over 80 businesses, the Queen Anne’s County Business Showcase 2008 included an Excellence in Business Awards Luncheon with former Governor Robert Ehrlich as keynote speaker, as well as seminars, door prizes, and a showcase of the exhibitors in attendance on the picturesque grounds of the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club on October 23.

Waterfowl Festival Preview Party | Easton
Cars lined the streets of downtown Easton as waterfowl enthusiasts from all over the country made their way to the Armory to get a sneak peek the wildlife art featured in this year’s Waterfowl Festival. Guests enjoyed complimentary wine from Hair O’the Dog, and homemade crab dip while perusing through paintings, sculptures, and carvings. A live auction featuring miniature carvings created by the country’s finest wood sculptors concluded the evening.

Wet & Wild Auction | Queenstown
Raising more than $31,000 for the Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center’s education, restoration, and research efforts, the sixth annual Wet & Wild Auction drew more than 200 guests to Hunter’s Oak Golf Club on November 26. Lavish vacation packages and an autographed Paul Reed Smith guitar were among the items featured in both live and silent auctions.

Oyster Jam | St. Michaels
St. Michaels celebrated the inaugural Oyster Jam on November 8 with a series of oyster-themed events in an around town. Presented by the organizers of the St. Michaels Food and Wine Festival, Oyster Jam donated a portion of its proceeds to the Phillips Wharf Environmental Center in Tilghman.
