The
Anne Arundel Conflict Resolution Center recently held their 2nd Annual Annapolis Idol fundraising event at Renditions in Davidsonville. Thirteen contestants performed before an audience of approximately 200 attendees who participated in the selection process.
Money raised at the event helps support the Center which aids in the non-violent resolution of personal and community conflict by providing mediation, anger management training, and other services to individuals and groups.
Grand prize winner Shammara Laster won a professionally produced music video courtesy of ADEK productions.
The three judges: Radio host and writer Michael Buckley, last year's Idol Danielle Massarini, and musician and composer Rob Levit.

The 11th Annual Mardi Gras Gala hosted by the
Anne Arundel County Arts Council raised monies for local non-profit arts and history related organizations and entertained enthusiastic attendees with cocktails, dinner, dancing, silent auction, and live auction.

On March 7th, the
Annapolis Rotary Club hosts its 6th Annual Black Tie & Diamonds event at the Westin in Annapolis. The gala featured cocktails, dinner, and dancing to music by Gazze. Silent and live auctions, a cash raffle, and a diamond raffle raised proceeds to benefit Maryland Theraputic Riding's Horses for Heroes program.

The Change of Watch for the
Annapolis Sail & Power Squadron (ASPS) was held at the US Naval Academy's Officers Club on March 14, as Dr. Howard Cupples was installed as Commander of ASPS for 2009/2010.
