Special Olympics Chair Visits Benedictine School | Ridgely
Timothy Shriver, chairman of Special Olympics International, visited the Benedictine School in March and agreed to be the keynote speaker at the school’s 50th anniversary Spring Benefit Gala. Sister Jeannette Murray, Benedictine’s director, says the school is honored to be visited by “a man of such stature in the special-needs community.”

Hospice of Queen Anne’s Sixth Annual Gala | Queenstown
Hosted by Congressman Frank Kratovil and his wife, Kimberly, this black-tie-optional event treated over 150 guests to food from 10 county restaurants, among them Annie’s Paramount Steak & Seafood, Cafe Sado, Fisherman’s Inn, Harris Crab House, and Rustico Restaurant & Wine Bar. This year’s gala raised over $30,000 for Hospice of Queen Anne’s.

Talbot Hospice Fundraiser | St. Michaels
Talbot Hospice raised over $6,400 during its March fundraiser at the Crab Claw Restaurant in St. Michaels, which invited former members of its wait staff to return for the evening, donating their time and tips to Talbot Hospice. This second annual event is a memorial dinner for Robbie Shortall, the restaurant’s longtime general manager, who passed away while living at Talbot Hospice.

Raise the Roof for Habitat | Easton
Over 160 attendees raised over $50,000 during Habitat for Humanity of Talbot & Dorchester Counties’ annual fundraising event. Peninsula Construction’s model home in Easton Village hosted the event, which offered an open bar, homemade food, and a live auction.
