Dorchester Center for the Arts Guest Artist Event | Cambridge

The Dorchester Center for the Arts celebrated its 2nd Annual Guest Artist Event on Saturday, March 21 with more than 100 guests in attendance. The evening included a cocktail hour, dinner, music, dancing, and an art auction that helped raise funds for the non-profit organization.


St. Michaels Food & Wine Festival VIP Reception and Charity Auction | St. Michaels

Over two thousand people from all over the United States flocked to St. Michaels for the St. Michaels Food & Wine Festival, held April 24–26. Held on the waterfront campus of the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum, attendees of the festival enjoyed beautiful warm weather, blue skies, and of course, great wine and delicious food! The festival began on Friday at noon and continued through Sunday and featured wine tastings, cooking demonstrations, seminars and live entertainment.

The opening reception and charity auction on Friday night featured “A Taste of Five Cities From Around the World,” presented by Gourmet By the Bay, of St. Michaels. The five-featured cities were Buenos Aires, Florence, Paris, Tokyo, and Miami.

Benedictine School’s 50th Anniversary Spring Benefit 2009 | Ridgely

This year’s Spring Benefit was the crowning event of Benedictine’s 50th anniversary year, and took place at the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay. Saturday, April 25, 2009 was the biggest and best Spring Benefit yet. Nearly 400 people attended, and Dr. Timothy Shriver, Chairman of Special Olympics International was the keynote speaker. Jay Leno sent a congratulatory message and warm wishes via a satellite video. Over $500,000 was raised for the Benedictine School for exceptional children in Ridgely.

Blooms for United Way | Kent Island


The United Way of Queen Anne's County celebrated "Blooms for United Way" on April 4th at the Kent Island Yacht Club. The Yacht Club was once again blanketed with “blooms” donated by Gary Mangum of Bell Nurseries. Local nursery wholesaler, The Conard Pyle Company, also donated five of their award winning rose bushes to be auctioned off. There was also a Wheelbarrow Raffle, plenty of good food, a Silent Auction followed by a Live Auction and "30 Second Spotlight" presentations by the 22 agencies supported by the United Way of Queen Anne's County.

Mid-Shore Home school Cooperative Donates to the Talbot Interfaith Shelter | Easton

As its service project for the second session of the school year, the Mid-Shore Homeschool Cooperative collected and donated several bins full of books, toys, games and art supplies for children staying at Talbot Interfaith Shelter, the county’s first emergency cold weather shelter.
