So we decided to wait. At this time, the goal is to take off on my birthday, Aug. 13, which is about three months after our wedding. However, that date is subject to change based on a lot of different things.
However, we will go on our honeymoon. The question is: Where?
My fiance was pretty much game for anything because he hasn't done a whole lot of traveling. I had a few requests:
1) The Caribbean. I've traveled a lot and been to Hawaii and Europe, two popular honeymoon destinations, but I've never been to the Caribbean. I would be willing to consider a coastal Mexican town; however, the recent troubles in Mexico gives me pause.
2) All-inclusive. I want to pay up-front and then not have to open a wallet for the rest of the vacation. I love the idea of eating and drinking whenever and whatever I want without having to worry about the cost.
3) Adults-only. Kids are great, but not on my honeymoon.
After some extensive research, I narrowed it down to three resorts, two of which are in Jamaica and one in Mexico.
Option 1: Couples Negril in Negril, Jamaica

So beautiful, and I've heard great things about it. However, I've also heard rumblings that you shouldn't visit Mexico right now. Obviously, we would see what the status is before booking plane tickets.
Option 3: Secrets Wild Orchid in Montego Bay, Jamaica

This is a fairly new resort, which looks promising. However, I haven't heard as much praise about it as with the Couples Resorts, so I'm still keeping my eye out for news about it.
Where did you go on your honeymoon? Any other suggestions for me?
