TOUR DE TALBOT – RIDE FOR CLEAN RIVERS
brMidshore Riverkeeper Conservancy (MRC) will host the 11th Annual Tour de Talbot - Ride for Clean Rivers on Sunday, September 20th at Chesapeake College in Wye Mills. The 62-mile metric will kick-off at 8 a.m. and the 35 and 20-mile rides will follow at 10 a.m. All rides will start and finish at Chesapeake College on the Wye River. After the ride participants and volunteers can enjoy lunch, drinks, and live music all in celebration of the ride. Routes follow the flat, scenic back roads of not only Talbot County, but also Caroline and Queen Anne’s Counties, with rest stops located along the bank of the Choptank River and the scenic Tuckahoe State Park. The ride supports the work of MRC to preserve and protect the Miles, Wye, and Choptank Rivers and Eastern Bay. Registration is required for the ride. Riders can be part of a team or ride solo. HOSPICE CUP
brHospice Cup is a charity sailing regatta celebrating 34 years of raising sails and raising funds for hospice programs throughout Maryland, Washington D.C., and Northern Virginia including: Capital Caring, Montgomery Hospice, and Hospice of the Chesapeake. The focus for 2015 funds is Veterans services and care. Participating hospices use funds raised through Hospice Cup to continue to offer quality, end-of-life care to patients, their families and friends. The Hospice Cup is Saturday, September 19th.
