Its summer time and life is too short to sit around the house on your phone. Yes, barbeques and sitting by the pool for hours until you’re golden brown are great summer traditions. But, standing around in a sea of people with music radiating through the air or sitting in a relaxed environment enjoying a rehearsed, staged production are opportunities you don’t want to miss. Social media will always be there, but you can’t download a live experience! So, put down the phones, grab your friends, and head over to one of the local venues listed below, you won’t regret it.

Soo Jin Pretty Nail (and more!)
The Baltimore Theatre Project, Thursday, June 16th & Friday, June 17th, 8 p.m., Saturday, June 18th, 2 p.m. & 8 p.m., Sunday, June 19th, 5 p.m.
brSoo Jin Pretty Nail (and more!) is an alarmingly, intimate look at the chaotic mind of actress and writer, Susan Hyon, from the inside out. It begins in the crummiest of Pennsylvania towns, where Susan was raised neck deep in the baggage her parents never unpacked after arriving fresh off the boat from Korea. Where it ends, however, is anyone's guess. This is not your typical triumph over adversity American dream story. In fact, depending how Susan feels about herself by the end, it might not be a triumph over anything. But here is what's for sure. This show will contain one genuinely, clinically depressed, unpredictable, basket-case working it out on stage for your viewing pleasure or horror.
Good People
The Colonial Players, Inc., Thursday, June 16th, Friday, June 17th, & Saturday, June 18th, 8 p.m., June 19th, 2 p.m.
brWelcome to Southie, a Boston neighborhood where a night on the town means a few rounds of bingo, where this month's paycheck covers last month’s bills, and where Margie Walsh has just been let go from yet another job. Facing eviction and scrambling to catch a break, Margie thinks an old fling that’s made it out of Southie might be her ticket to a fresh new start. But is this apparently self-made man secure enough to face his humble beginnings? Margie is about to risk what little she has left to find out. With his signature humorous glow, Lindsay-Abaire explores the struggles, shifting loyalties, and unshakeable hopes that come with having next to nothing in America.

brPoor Maude! Living in a trailer park, fired from her bartending job, even her best friend refused the thrift store painting she bought for her birthday. But that painting might just be a lost Jackson Pollock! Her fate lies in the hands of world-famous curator Lionel Percy, who shows up at Maude’s trailer to determine its authenticity. What follows is a collision of class and culture, where the ‘average Joe’ might finally throw it in the face of those ‘east coast elites’.
Fiddler on the Roof
Church Hill Theatre, Friday, June 17th & Saturday, June 18th, 8 p.m., Sunday, June 19th, 2 p.m.
brBased on Sholem Aleichem’s stories by special permission of Arnold Perl Set in the bustling village of Anatevka, the story centers on a poor dairyman named Tevye and his five daughters. With the help of a colorful and tight-knit Jewish community, a matchmaker attempts to find fitting husbands for the young women. Tevye hopes to instill his daughters with traditional values in the face of changing social mores and the growing anti-Semitism of Czarist Russia. Fiddler’s universal theme of tradition cuts across barriers of nationality and religion, leaving audiences crying tears of laughter, joy and sadness.
