Annapolis Film Festival to Show “Courageous–Defending the 1977 America’s Cup”
On Saturday, March 24th at Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts in Annapolis, the documentary film “Courageous” will be shown as part of the much-celebrated Annapolis Film Festival. Beginning at 11:45 a.m., the feature will be proceeded by a panel discussion, including Gary Jobson (
Courageous tactician), Matt Allen (Director of NBC Sports), Bill Jorch (
Courageous navigator), and others, dissecting the events of the 1977 America’s Cup, won by the Ted Turner-captained
Courageous. Jobson, a long-time Annapolitan and ambassador of American sailing served as the boat’s tactician during this dramatic underdog victory.
