Cydni Cole
Indian Creek School // Basketball, Soccer
Helping revitalize the Indian Creek girls basketball team has paid off for Cole, who will attend George Mason University on a full basketball scholarship.
“The biggest highlight of my high school career was being able to change the girls’ basketball program at Indian Creek with my teammates and coaches,” Cole says. “As a team we were able to accomplish things that had never happened at Indian Creek School.”
Cole is also a member of the AAU Maryland Pride and earned first-team All-IAAM Conference, first-team All-County and second-team Baltimore Sun All-Metro.
Her ambitions include playing professional basketball overseas but she will focus on majoring in the medical field, eventually hoping to become a paramedic or EMT.
What tipped the scales for Cole to play for George Mason was their “outstanding academics and the caring coaching staff.”
Boasting a 3.0 GPA, Cole admires Ohio State men’s team point guard Aaron Craft because of his knack for handling opponents on the court and maintaining a 4.0 pre-med GPA in the classroom. Cole also cites her mother as a source of inspiration because of her strength and ability to always be there for her.
