The USA 2012 National DanceSport Championships are coming to the Renaissance Harbor Place Hotel this weekend, showcasing the best in American ballroom and latin dancing talent. The largest amateur competition in the country, more than 1,200 qualified competitors between the ages of 7 and 70 will dance for three straight days and nights.
Carrie Ann Inaba, celebrity judge on ABC-TV’s “Dancing With The Stars,” will also be attending the USA Dance National DanceSport Championships. She is Honorary Judge for the annual USA Dance Star Quality Awards, presented following the evening Championships final rounds on Friday and Saturday. Following the final presentations Saturday evening, Carrie Ann will return to Los Angeles as “Dancing With The Stars,” is currently in its 14th season and airs Monday night, April 2.
Past competitors, celebrity youth, and adult couples who have performed on "Dancing with the Stars," "So You Think You Can Dance," "America's Got Talent," and other television dance and talent shows will also be competing in their respective divisions. The USA 2012 Dance Nationals will include all four major ballroom dance styles—international Standard, International Latin, American Smooth and American Rhythm—ranging from Bronze, Silver, and Gold to Novice, Pre-Championship and Championship levels.
