#38) Genuine 1684 Princess Louisa Treasure Coin

A genuine treasure! In 1743, an East India Company ship called Princess Louisa was lost in the treacherous waters of the Cape Verde Islands. When she sank, Princess Louisa was carrying more than four thousand pounds of Spanish Colonial cob coinage from the New World mints. The coins were to be used to purchase silks, spices, and other goods in the East. This genuine silver coin, dated 1684, was recovered from Louisa’s wreckage. Framed in 14k yellow gold, it hangs from a 16” blackened steel neck wire. A certificate of authenticity is included.
