Don't forget: this Sunday, June 17th, is Father's Day. Before you run out and buy another mug, tie, or some more grill supplies, consider treating your rad dad to a day of fun with his favorite kid. Here are ways you can cele ate the father figures in your life and show them just how much you appreciate all they do.
Start the Day with A Full Stomach:
Every dad deserves a good meal! Show dad you're willing to go the “extra mile” by joining Annapolis Striders for their 38th annual Dawson's Father's Day 10K on Sunday, July 17th, 8 a.m. Though online registration is closed, race-day registration will be available from 6:30–7:45 a.m. Race registration is $20 and will take place at Severna Park High School. Raise A Glass to Dad:
Start the cele ation early and spend the day toasting dad at Drink Maryland on Saturday, June 16th, 12–5 p.m. in Centreville. This Maryland Makers festival will feature local wine, cider, beer, and spirits. Entry is free, and tasting passes are $20 in advance, $25 at the gate, and include a Drink Maryland stemless glass and drink samples from all attending vendors. Enjoy A Good ‘ole Fashioned Ball Game:
Head to Oriole Park at Camden Yards this Father's Day to watch the Baltimore Orioles take on the Miami Marlins at 1:05 p.m. The first 20,000 fans ages 18 and over will receive a free Father's Day neck tie. The Bowie Baysox will also be cele ating dad during their Father’s Day game against the Portland Seadogs at 1:35 p.m. Head to Prince George’s Stadium early for a special Meet the Team Autograph and Photo event from 12–12:30 p.m. After the game, all fans and dads are invited to run the bases. Help Dad Save the World:
Cele ate dad while benefitting the South River Federation and West & Rhode River Keeper at the Waterkeeper Alliance's inaugural Splash South x West Rhode River Fest, beginning at 11 a.m. at Mayo Beach Park in Edgewater. Admission is free and includes use of kayaks and stand-up paddleboards, live music, and a beer garden for the adults. Food trucks will also be on site offering delicious eats.
