Founder & Head Trainer | Maxed Out Fitness
Ashley Calo, an Annapolis-based personal trainer, fitness model, and American Natural Bodybuilding Federation (ANBF) figure and physique professional, began her fitness journey when she was 19 years old after a personal transformation from a size 16 to a competitive athlete. She has more than 20 years of experience in training and strategic meal planning, and in 2020, she launched Maxed Out Fitness, a woman- and veteran-owned elite boutique studio. Calo believes in customized programming, community culture, and empowering clients of all ages and abilities to own their fitness story.
Why is it so important to customize a fitness program?
Clients define “fit” differently because every lifestyle is different. Their routines, challenges, and goals vary greatly, so a cookie-cutter plan will never deliver meaningful change. Real transformation occurs when a program is built around their life, their limitations, and their vision for themselves. When you honor who a person truly is, you create results that they can actually sustain.
What excites you most about your career?
I love seeing people win. Every day, I get to help someone feel stronger, healthier, or more confident—whether that means shedding 20 or even 100 pounds, helping an athlete make the team, or seeing a 93-year-old dance again. My clients trust me with their goals, but they also let me push, love, and challenge them along the way. These relationships—and the lifelong connections we create—make this career so fulfilling.

Our trainers are experienced, continually educated, and supported by medical and therapeutic partners. With an in-house chiropractor and advanced in-body diagnostics, we offer exceptional tools and expertise. But our biggest strength is our community.
