How would you describe SLG and your team?
A nonprofit leadership formation organization, SLG’s team includes expert leaders from sectors across the country, including education, finance, government, medical, and military. Current and former C-Suite and other senior leaders facilitate our cohorts and provide lifelong 1:1 mentorship. They generously dedicate their time because they care about the future of our nation’s leadership.
What sets SLG apart from other leadership programs?
SLG develops great leaders who dedicate themselves to their teams with clear intent to deliver results. Our standard is excellence! We believe principled, or virtue-based, leadership can transform every organization at every level. At SLG, we
focus intently on the team and on developing great leaders and followers.
When leadership and followership are aligned and integrated, individuals take shared ownership of outcomes. Leaders serve the team, and team members actively contribute, speak up, and hold each other accountable. SLG builds courageous leaders defined by character, shaped by timeless virtues, and motivated by selfless service.
Tell us more about virtuous leadership. Why is it needed now?
At its core, virtuous leadership is about character. It is defined not by position or personal achievement, but by a leader’s responsibility to develop others, build trust, and drive sustained excellence in service of the mission.
In today’s world, we often see leaders who prioritize personal or financial gain over the greater good. At the same time, workplaces struggle to foster engaged, collaborative teams. Virtuous leadership is the answer! It creates cultures where people feel valued, aligned, and motivated to contribute to something greater than themselves.
