What inspired you to pursue financial planning as a career and ultimately found Bay Point Wealth?
At one of my first jobs, I would informally help my coworkers with the company’s 401(k) and employee benefits questions. I realized that I had a passion for planning, and my colleagues appreciated my help. Not only did I find this experience rewarding, but I was really good at it. I had my CPA at the time, and I began studying to become a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™.
What makes Bay Point Wealth stand out from other firms in the area?
When you look at the firms in our industry, it can be hard to differentiate Bay Point from our competition. To me, what makes us different is easy: our amazing team!
Our talented team works hard to ensure that our clients receive the best advice. We continuously strive to improve the advice we provide and the way we deliver our service. We act as a fiduciary when caring for our clients. Our team doesn’t sell financial products, and we provide unbiased, professional advice.
We’re small enough to develop close personal relationships with our clients while being competent and experienced enough to handle their most complicated planning needs. And we measure success by how well we improve our clients’ lives.
What excites you most about your profession?
The wealth management field is constantly changing with new tax laws, investment options, and new technologies. Staying abreast of these changes is challenging and exciting.
What trends in financial planning are you seeing in 2023?
There is a trend to provide advice through digital channels and service centers. In my experience, having a deep understanding of a client’s family situation is the only way to provide the best advice. Calling an “800” number or utilizing a cookie-cutter advisory service to plan for deeply sensitive, unique, and often complex family planning matters sounds like a bad plan.
