brThe weather is warming up and it’s time to celebrate! St. Patrick’s Day is this Monday and there are a variety of ways to celebrate its arrival this weekend.br
brThe city of St. Michaels will host its 2nd Annual Celebrate the Spirit of the Irish, a four-day long party occurring from Friday through Monday. The event kicks off with Burning of the Socks at Aida’s Victoriana Inn on Friday at 5:45 p.m. Saturday boasts of an Irish costume contest, games, activities, a scavenger hunt and more. There will be a family day with live music on Sunday and egg and cart races to go along with day-long entertainment on Monday. br
brLooking for floats, dancers, leprechauns and loads of green? There will be St. Patrick’s Day parades strolling along in Baltimore (Sunday), Washington, D.C. (Sunday) and Ocean City (Saturday). br
brThe 3rd Annual Shamrock Shindig at Pierce’s Park in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor Pier V will serve as the lead-up to Baltimore’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event features live music by Barleyjuice, food trucks, beer, wine, mixed drinks, a Shamrock Alley for kids, a strolling leprechaun, stilt walkers, games and more. br
brThe Maryland women’s lacrosse team will keep the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day alive this weekend when they take on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish on Saturday at noon at the University of Maryland Field Hockey and Lacrosse Complex in College Park. br
brLooking to shed some calories before or after indulging in some green beer? The 7th Annual St. Paddy’s Day 5K will start and end at the General James F. Fretterd Community Center in Denton. The race begins at 9 a.m. and costs $20 for early registration and $25 for late registration. All proceeds benefit the Hand-in-Hand fund.br
brSpeaking of the Eastern Shore, the Phillips Wharf Environmental Center in Tilghman will host Irish Bingo Night on Friday from 5:30-9:30 p.m. and the Oxford Community Center will hold a St. Patrick’s Day concert Friday at 7:30 p.m. featuring the Free N Eazy Band. br
