Full Moon Tour
brTreaty of Paris Center will feature a lecture on what happened soon after the Declaration of Independence: Congress left Philadelphia for Baltimore. Come learn about “When Baltimore was the Capital of the United States.” The Treaty of Paris Center's July 4th session will take place in the Maryland Inn's Crown and Crab Room from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and will include films, walking tours, and exhibits related to the Treaty of Paris Period, 1783-87, between the Revolution and the Constitution.
brThe Old-Fashioned Fourth Celebration is great fun for all ages. The celebration includes children’s activities, patriotic ceremonies and stories of our history. Join Uncle Sam for the fun and spectacle of this traditional celebration. Children and families are encouraged to wear patriotic attire, decorate bikes and wagons, and join the parade!
brIn celebration of Independence Day, the waterfront Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum (CBMM) is welcoming back The Shades of Blue Orchestra for a live performance at their Big Band Night. Two vocalists will join the 18-piece Shades of Blue Orchestra as they perform from the historic Tolchester Beach Bandstand. Mixing together popular standards, a variety of musical styles, and dance-able rhythms, the Shades of Blue Orchestra combines brass, woodwind, and rhythm instruments to bring music from the 1930’s to present to the museum’s 18-acre waterfront campus. The orchestra is conducted by Michael A. Walker, a military-trained musician of the Armed Forces School of Music and former member of the 229th Maryland Army National Guard Band.

brOn this interactive tour visitors will learn about what night was like during the early 19th Century when the beautiful Frances Townley Chase Lockerman lived on the property with her eccentric husband, Richard and their young family. Visitors will hear about the rise and fall of this Annapolitan family while under the cover of twilight in the Hammond-Harwood House. Tour times are at 7 p.m. and 8 pm. Wine and beer are available for purchase starting at 6 p.m. $15 per person, $10 for members.
