8th Annual Paca Girlfriends’ Party

6th Annual Annapolis Arts, Crafts, and Wine Festival
brThe Annapolis Arts, Crafts, and Wine Festival is a weekend of fine, juried arts and handmade crafts, plus wine tastings from more than 25 Maryland wineries. Smooth jazz music and delectable cuisine with family friendly activities are also part of the festival. This is a two-day outdoor celebration of the arts will take place Saturday, June 4th from 10 a.m.–6 p.m. and Sunday, June 5th from 10 a.m.–5 p.m. at Navy-Marine Corp Stadium. Bands in the Sand
brSaturday, June 11th 5–10:30 p.m. enjoy a fun-filled evening on the water’s edge with friends, great live music, cool drinks, and mouth-watering grilled food at the Chesapeake Bay Foundation’s Annual Bands in the Sand event. This party has raised funds to defend and protect the Bay. Proceeds have helped develop award winning educational programs, on-the-ground restoration activities throughout the watershed, and advocacy initiatives at both the federal and state level. 30th Annual Antique and Classic Boat Festival
brBoating enthusiasts rejoice at the 30th Annual Antique and Classic Boat Festival! See wooden classics, vintage race boats, and other antique and Chesapeake Bay-related boats, and enjoy workshops, family activities, live music, and more. Hosted by the Chesapeake Bay Chapter of the Antique and Classic Boat Society, this event will be held Friday, June 17th through Sunday, June 19th at the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum in St. Michaels. National Music Festival
brThe National Music Festival at Washington College brings together inspiring mentors and the next generation of gifted musicians, providing education, scholarships, and affordable, adventurous public performances. The Festival, which presents concerts and rehearsals in venues throughout Chestertown and Kent County, runs from Sunday, June 5th through Saturday, June 18th. Music ranges widely from Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony to Dixieland Jazz, as apprentices and mentors rehearse and perform together in orchestra, chamber, solo recital, and choral repertoire. Thomas Point Shoal Lighthouse Tours
brThe Annapolis Maritime Museum is one of four partners in a consortium that took over ownership of the beautiful Thomas Point Shoal Lighthouse. The Museum joined the Chesapeake Chapter of the U.S. Lighthouse Society, the City of Annapolis, and Anne Arundel County to manage and preserve this beloved National Historic Landmark. Built in 1875, last screwpile lighthouse on the Bay remains in its original location—one-and-a-half miles offshore in the Chesapeake Bay at the mouth of the South River. Conservation and restoration are ongoing. The goal of the partnership is to make the lighthouse accessible to the public. Docent-led tours aboard the lighthouse are offered each summer through October 8th. June tours include Saturday, June 4th and Saturday, June 25th at 9 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Tickets are $70. Secret Garden Tour
brThe Secret Garden Tour explores different private gardens through the neighborhood of Murray Hill in Downtown Annapolis Saturday, June 4th and Sunday, June 5th 10–3 p.m. During the rare opportunity participants are given a behind the scenes look at some of the most stunning gardens in the area. Docents will have garden descriptions for each location. Enjoy going beyond the gates of many wonderful gardens. Riddle Me This: Mysteries of History Summer Camp Hosted by Historic Annapolis
brThis summer Historic Annapolis will introduce your young detectives to a world of mystery in Historic Annapolis! Sunday Sushi Gospel

Bishop Craig Coates from Fresh Start Church and his Gospel Choir sing classic R&B Gospel songs. The Avett Brothers
brThe Avett Brothers will perform not one but two shows at Pier Six Pavilion in Baltimore on Friday, June 3rd and Saturday, June 4th at 8:30 p.m. With roots in traditional folk and bluegrass, their music also has rock n’ roll attitude. The band is touring in support of their latest release, True Sadness, which they note “is a patchwork quilt, both thematically and stylistically. Wherein a myriad of contrasting fabrics make perfect sense on the same plane...” The latest record has influences as varied as quilt patches: Queen, Sister Rosetta Tharpe, Tom Petty, Nine Inch Nails, and Aretha Franklin, to name a few. Eastport a Rockin’ Music Festival
brEastport A Rockin’ is a music and arts festival on Back Creek in Annapolis’ historic maritime district of Eastport. Three stages host more than 25 bands performing music from Rock to Folk, to Roots to Blues, Jazz, Bluegrass, Funk, and Soul. Eastport starts rockin’ at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 18th. The party goes until 8 p.m. and benefits The Annapolis Maritime Museum, Annapolis Fund for Musicians, and the Eastport Volunteer Fire Department. There will be food and beverages galore! Great Strides Walk: A Cystic Fibrosis Benefit

Every Step Counts Bello Machre Walk/Bike/5K Run
brEvery Step Counts Bello Machre Walk/Bike/5K Run will be held at Anne Arundel Community College on Saturday, June 11th at 8 a.m. The Bello Machre 5K Run will feature a professional timing system for each registered 5K participant—whether you walk or run. Awards will be presented to the fastest three times for both men and women. Medals also awarded to both men/women in eight groups—all participants under the age of 15 will receive a participation medal. The Every Step Counts 5K Course is suited for runners of all ages. 11th Annual Eastport Home and Garden Tour
brThe Eastport Home and Garden Tour is the Eastport Community Association’s premier annual event and showcases the fabric and character of the unique neighborhood. Proceeds support the many projects of the Eastport Community Association. Enjoy the small gems and hidden treasures nestled around Second and Third Streets on the Eastport peninsula. Join the Eastport Civic Association on Sunday, June 12th between 1–5 p.m. (rain or shine) for this much anticipated annual tour. The homes and gardens on this year’s tour include a “man-cave” carved into a backyard, a working artist’s studio packed with inspiration, and a condominium boasting the Chesapeake Bay as its garden. Rock the Dock Music Series at Chesapeake Beach Resort And Spa

This fundraiser event benefits Leonardtown Lions Club, which has played an active and vital role in serving first the citizens of St. Mary’s County. Great American Campout
brWelcome summer by taking part in the National Wildlife Federation’s Great American Campout at Adkins Arboretum on Saturday, June 25th and Sunday, June 26th. The fun starts at 1 p.m. on Saturday. Join fellow campers for a naturalist-led “walk and wade” along the Blockston Branch, catch fireflies, take a flashlight hike, and share spooky stories around the campfire. brArt in Bloom is a two-day fundraising event at Chestertown RiverArts Gallery to benefit Community Mediation Upper Shore. View vintage farm equipment at the Kent Museum, the original manorial home Knock’s Folly, a popular fishing pier on Turner’s Creek at the granary, and a Revolutionary War era cemetery. National Trails Day Hike
brNational Trails Day Hike is Saturday, June 4, 2016. In celebration of a national movement to promote the importance of trails in the United States, Maryland State Parks have planned a series of outdoor activities on National Trails Day. These family-friendly events include an array of activities, including guided hikes, trail maintenance projects, invasive plant removal, biding, geocaching, bicycling, and paddling trips. Ironman Eagleman Triathlon
brAthletes will begin with a 1.2-mile, one-loop swim in the Choptank River on the Delmarva Peninsula. The course is rectangular, and features an in-water start, exiting at the Great Marsh Park. The 56-mile, one-loop bike course travels through Dorchester County, and into the aforementioned wildlife refuge. The course is flat, fast and scenic. The 13.1-mile, one-loop run is on calm country roads offering numerous straightaways—opportunities for athletes to size up their competition. A professional prize purse of $30,000 is up for grabs as well as 30 age-group qualifying slots to the 2016 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship, taking place on September 4 in Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia. Bike MS: Chesapeake Challenge 2016
brBike MS: Chesapeake Challenge 2016 is the Maryland Chapter’s inaugural ride event that will take you farther than you’ve ever gone before. This fundraising event is held at Talbot Community Center on Saturday, June 4th and Sunday, June 5th. This event offers a perfect experience for cyclists of all levels and abilities with a variety of route options winding through the flat and rural Eastern Shore. 31st Annual Bay to Bay Bicycle Ride
brThe Chestertown Lions Club welcomes cyclists to this summer’s bicycling challenge, the Bay to Bay ride on Sunday, June 26th. The tour is 7 a.m.–6 p.m. and consists of four routes between 27 and 104 miles in length. The flat loop route takes in the scenery of the heartland of the Upper Eastern Shore of Maryland and Delaware including farmlands, old country homes, quaint towns, and great country stores. The 27-mile ride goes through historic Chestertown for those who want a less challenging ride. Spend the day touring the town, then return to join your friends at the beach. First Thursday Environmental Series Hosted by Chestertown Environmental Committee
brChestertown Environmental Committee hosts their free Film and Lecture Series the first Thursday of each month at Sumner Hall in Chestertown. Thursday, June 2nd at 6:30 p.m. Dr. Andrew Ristvey will present a talk on farm diversification by adding specialty fruit and vegetable crops. He will introduce attendees to some new potential specialties, in particular Aronia, a small purple fruit packed with antioxidants. The 31st Annual Chesapeake Chamber Music Festival
brHeld in Easton from June 5th through June 19th, the festival boasts concerts, Artist Showcases, open rehearsals, pre-concert discussions, and the Angels Concert, featuring new and returning artists from the world stage, diverse musical ensembles, and familiar classics. The festival will also include the world premiere of “Loosely Turing” by Lev Mamuya, a 19-year-old cellist. The piece is loosely inspired by a seminal paper about the limits of computation devices written by famed mathematician Alan Turing. Ticket prices vary. Oxford Cardboard Races
brPut your ingenuity to the test on Saturday, June 25th at the 28th Annual Cardboard Boat Race in Oxford. Each year, participants are tasked with creating a boat out of cardboard to paddle, push, or pull around The Strand, in the hopes of winning one of several coveted titles. Pre-register your crafty vessel at 9 a.m. or simply watch the races as they begin at 11 a.m. Entry fee is $25. Boat rental is $100. Boats for sale at $400.
