If, however, you’re looking to cram a little culture into your weekend, head to the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum on Saturday. There, they’re celebrating Chesapeake traditions from off the beaten path with the Chesapeake Folk Festival. Highlighting the Bay’s people, arts, work, and food, the event will include live music all day long, hands-on activities with regional craftspeople, and opportunities to paddle around the harbor in small craft made by shipwrights. Fun.
A little further down on the Shore, Cambridge is hosting the Cambridge Classic Powerboat Regatta on Saturday in Great Marsh Park. Now in its 102nd year, the event is an American Powerboat Association-sanctioned inboard hydroplane and flat-bottom boats race. The pit area will be open for spectators to look at the boats and talk with the race teams. Food and drinks will be available.r
