brLords and ladies alike, the time has come to revel in the return of two months of medieval life and debauchery in Crownsville. br
brBeginning this Saturday and continuing through October 19th, the Renaissance Festival will transport us --- everyday modern civilians – to a much simpler time… 1521 to be exact.br
brKing Henry VIII, Queen, Katherine of Aragon and their royal court will make their usual rounds through Revel Grove to survey the lay of the land and to learn the progress of its citizens. Among those in Revel Grove is Edward Stafford, the Duke of Buckingham, who is rumored to be a good candidate to take the king’s throne should he fail to produce a son. br
brFind out what happens when the Duke of Buckingham is summoned to appear before the king. Is it to enjoy the goings-on at Revel Grove? Or does trouble stand between he and the king?br
brWhile discovering the answers to these royal questions, explore the 25-acre English Tudor village with its magnanimous supply of food, shows that make the mind spin, and musical entertainment. br
brOpening weekend is children’s weekend, which admits kids 11 and under free of charge.br
brWhen you’re not gallivanting a world from 500 years ago, it may behoove you to examine antiques that date as far back as several thousand years ago.br
brWhere might you find such treasure? None other than the 34th Annual Baltimore Summer Antiques Show, taking place today through Sunday at the Baltimore Convention Center on Pratt Street. br
brMore than 500 international exhibitors will be on hand to display and sell diverse collections of jewelry, furniture, glass, textiles, silver, art, and porcelain from the U.S., Canada, France, Italy, England, China and Japan. br
brWant to work on your cardio rather than your antiques collection?br
brThe well revered 39th Annual Annapolis 10 Mile Run at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium starts at 7 a.m. sharp on Saturday and takes runners over the Severn River and through historic Downtown Annapolis. br
brThe SPCA of Anne Arundel County is holding its Third Annual Puppy Plunge at Camp Letts in Edgewater from 12-4 p.m. Sunday. Dogs of all sizes will run full speed ahead for a fun dip into the Rhode River. Humans can enjoy music, food, vendors, and kid’s activities.
