While Habitat for Humanity works on building new homes for people in communities all across the country, the nonprofit known as Cam idge Main Street is striving to improve city life close to home. This Saturday, June 4th, over 100 individuals are descending on the city of Cam idge to perform painting, shingling, window washing, mulching, cleaning and weeding to spruce up the look of two downtown blocks.

Some of these individuals are professionals from the Hyatt resort volunteering their time, but many are private citizens donating a couple of hours. According to Jim Duffy, Cam idge Main Street's executive director, "We're going to be like the little town that could all banding together on one fun day." While manual labor doesn't really sound like fun, it's suprising how enjoyable it can be when you're with the right group of people.

If you'd like to find out more about how you can participate in the cleanup and spruce up, either on Saturday or further on down the road, email office@cam idgemainstreet.com or call 443-477-0843. If you can't participate but you'd like to help, you can make a donation to the Fresh Coat Beautification Fund at Cam idge Main Street, 505 Poplar Street, Suite 300, Cam idge, MD 21613.
