So with all this summer drama behind us, we can get back to enjoying all the amazing autumn events that the area has to offer. And with October creeping right around the corner, that means we have beer and Oktoberfests right and left to attend. At What's Up Media we take our beer pretty seriously, so of course we got in on the action.

On Saturday, September 29th, What's Up? is sponsoring Chesapeake Beer Madness, a beer tasting event to gauge your thoughts on the best Maryland craft beer around. It's the Sweet Sixteen of beer drinking, and this month's event features Edward Joseph of E. Joseph and the Phantom Heart for entertainment. You don't want to miss it.
r
To continue with their mission of inging quality music to residents of the Eastern Shore, the Chesapeake Bay Community Band will put on an Oktoberfest this weekend at the Stevensville American Legion. They had us at "live German band," but we'll stick around for the all you can eat buffet.
r
Finally, a reason to go to Columbia, and it isn't the mall! The 2nd Annual Clydes of Columbia Fall Craft Beer Tasting and Festival. What more can we say other than "How does some knockworst and a big stein of own ale sound to you?"
r
Serious beer aficionados can't miss the Maryland Brewers' Oktoberfest, landing at the Timonium Fair Grounds on October 13th. It's perhaps the one time of the year that you'll eat shnitzel, and this Oktoberfest promises that it will totally be worth it.
r
Throughout the month, Blob's Park will be showcasing German bands for their annual Oktoberfest, getting your family out there on the dance floor for a polka or two.
r
The Annapolis Craft Beer and Music Festival rolls into town on October 27th, inging with it tons of regional, artisanal ales for both the beer snobs among us and those who can't tell their Coors from their Heineken. Seriously. You know a few people who struggle with that.

If oompah bands, sausage products, and heavy ales aren't your thing, you can still get in on the action by cele ating at home. There's nothing better than spooning up some of our Pumpkin Ale Chili as the weather gets cooler. It's pretty amazing served alongside corn ead. What do you drink with something like that? Come to Staples Corner Liquors on Saturday between 4 and 8pm and ask us there. We'll have plenty of options for you.
