With Skin, Strathmore showcases six artists' "body of work," exploring the transformative properties, cultural significance and artistry of body modification through tattoo, henna, bodypainting, hair and makeup. The exhibition features one of the world's foremost tattoo artists, Alex Reinke, with fellow ink authorities Robby Latos and Paul Roe, as well as body painter Craig Tracy, photographers John Borstel and Glenford Nunez, and henna artistBhavna Naik. An opening reception with nosh and henna art stations will be held on Thursday, September 20, 2012 from 7-9 p.m.

Singer-songwriter Eric Scott and his band combine the storyteller's art and the rock-and-roller's drive. The D.C. native has a background in R&B that has lead him to perform with artists such as James Brown, B.B. King, Ray Charles, Kansas, The Neville Brothers, Jimmy Buffett and Keb' Mo'. During his history as a sideman, songwriter and session musician, Scott has also released three records. The Washington Post called his sophomore album, featured on the WB television series Felicity, "Whip smart...hard to resist...clearly the work of a pop artist talented and resourceful enough to stand on his own."

Virginia native Pat McGee has established himself as a perennial East Coast favorite since the release of his debut album From the Wood, touring relentlessly, performing an average of more than 250 live dates each year with his acoustic jam-rock sextet. McGee's Strathmore performance is a fond reunion of local musicians from his past, including former Pat McGee Band bandmates John Small, Michael Ghegan, Patrick McAloon and Ira Gitlin, as well as lead singer of Eddie from Ohio Eddie Hartness, Nate Brown from Everything and John "Red" Redling from New Potato Caboose. Also performing with McGee are current high school student musicians from his alma mater, Bishop O'Connell High School in Arlington. Says The Washington Post, McGee "...looks like Brad Pitt, sings like James Taylor, sweats and struts like Springsteen. You can't deny McGee's charisma."

Fiddler Casey Driessen makes the Washington, D.C. debut of his new Singularity project at Strathmore. The Grammy-nominee mixes his signature percussive fiddle style with digital loops and effects, building each show layer by layer in real time in front of the audience. While audiences can see him routinely on tour with the masterful Béla Fleck and The Flecktones, for this performance Driessen comes only with a fiddle and pedal board for an intimate evening of unconventional music.
