The Mids were 23-29 in 2012, with a 10-17 home record. This year's roster introduces 13 freshmen, helping to make up for the gaps left by departing seniors Alex Azor and Preston Gainey. Sophomore Brad Borosak and Junior Brandon Beans missed the better part of the 2012 season due to injuries, but coach Paul Kastacopoulos reports that they were back in action during fall workouts in October. And Patriot League leader Greg Dupell is back for another year in the infield.

Navy doesn't face off with Army until late March, and this year's match up happens in West Point. Before then, though, you can see the Mids take on Central Connecticut, Delaware State, Princeton, and Maryland Eastern Shore in Max Bishop Stadium.

The view is great from any seat in the house—none of which require tickets. Navy baseball calls the Terwilliger Brothers Field at Max Bishop Stadium home, and offers free admission to regular season games. Translation: you can take the whole family out to the ball game without eaking the bank. And while a fully stocked concession stand provides all the Cracker Jacks and hot dogs you need, spectators are allowed to ing in food and non alcoholic beverages to enjoy around picnic tables on the patio area—so pack a lunch and make a day of it. We think it's one of our town's hidden gems.

The stadium began extensive renovations in 2005, thanks in part to the generous support of its namesake Terwilliger family, and its redesign makes it a great place to catch a ball game. Aside from its charming um ella-shaded picnic tables, Bishop Stadium features chair-back seating with a capacity of 1,500. Fun fact: the facility was named after longtime baseball coach Max Bishop—and when we say “longtime,” we mean it. Bishop led the team from 1937–1961. That's a lot of innings. Be sure to bundle up, or ing the hot cocoa in this early games though— there aren't any indoor facilities in which you'd otherwise be able to warm up.

According to NavySports.com, it's only the third NCAA baseball facility to have FieldTurf on the entire fi eld (excluding, of course, the pitcher's mound and home plate)—just like the MLB's Minnesota Twins and the Tampa Bay Devil Rays (and, if you're a Navy football fan, the Jack Stephens Field at Navy- Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.) And it's all right off of King George Street downtown.

Parking is not super accessible, but fortunately, the stadium is. Street parking is all over the King George Street/St. John's College area, and even City Dock is only a isk stroll away, so plan to park and walk—you'd probably cover the same distance on foot parking and walking to Camden Yards.
