Chesapeake Beach Resort & Spa continues its Winter Music Tribute Band Series with the sounds of rock n’ roll, Motown and oldies. Three Great Classics will be performed at the National Philharmonic Music Center at the Strathmore in North Bethesda on Saturday at 8 p.m. Performing will be Ga iela Martinez, piano, Julie Keim, soprano, Robert Petillo, tenor, Kerry Wilkerson, bass, National Philharmonic Chorale and Victoria Gau, conductor. Performances include the Mozart’s D Major Divertimento, Bach’s Piano Concerto No. 1 and Schubert’s Mass No. 2 in G Major.
Take your children out to Homestead Gardens in Davidsonville to help them learn how to build their very own birdhouse on Saturday from 12-1 p.m. The kids will get plenty of satisfaction from not only creating their own house, but seeing it hung in their yard as it becomes home to the numerous types of birds in the area. Spots are limited to 10 children with materials provided by Homestead Gardens.
The Queen Anne's County Free Li ary - Kent Island Branch will host its weekly Art is for Everyone class with Glenn Shiring from 12-2 p.m. Saturday. Suitable for all ages, this class helps transform recycled items into new pieces of art. This class also takes place from 3-5 p.m. at the Centerville Branch Li ary. The Annapolis Maritime Museum will host its first of 10 lectures in its Winter Lecture Series as you take a peek into a window on the world of the 17th and 18th century British Navy through dockside ship models from presenter Grant H.
