Diverse Music at Rams Head On Stage Delivers!
That’s A Wrap! What’s Up? Re-Cap: Robert Glasper’s Other-worldly Notes Soar
Robert Glasper played a packed house at Rams Head On Stage Monday, December 21st. Grammy Award-winning Glasper is an accomplished musician, composer, musical director, and jazz pianist who pushes the limits of musical experimentation. Upon hearing his musical creations, ears were awestruck! Robert Glasper has long kept one foot planted firmly in jazz and the other in hip-hop and R&B. He’s worked extensively with living hip-hop legend, Q-Tip. Glasper’s extensive knowledge of music makes for a fascinating listen. The audience enjoyed being surprised as he dropped musical references, quoting famous classical and jazz composers. He uses a musical reference as a launching pad to create a variation on a theme that expands into Glasper’s otherworldly unique style. It’s not a gimmick. It’s an experiment in electro, neo-soul, hip-hop, and jazz-funk.brEveryone enjoyed the show even the die-hard fans lined up in seating against the back wall.
