The Color Parade is the last of the four formal dress parades this spring semester. The parade is open to the public and will be held on Worden Field. The highlight of the Color Parade is the formal presentation of the color company pennant by the superintendent, the company commander and the “color honoree,” to the newly designated spring color company. Each semester, the color company is designated by virtue of its excellence in academics, athletics and professional accomplishments throughout the semester. The color company competition began in 1867.

Two Great Houses Tour – Hammond-Harwood House

This tour explores the architectural highlights of Annapolis two premier 18th century jewels products of architect William Buckland, the Hammond -Harwood House and the Chase Llloyd House.
Day on the Bay to St. Michaels – City Dock
Saturday, May 26th, 10 a.m.–5:30 p.m.
Cruise across the Bay to spend over three hours at this quaint, historic village, enjoying fresh seafood, boutique shopping and historic sites, all within walking distance. Cash beverage and snack service onboard. Ticket includes complimentary admission to the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum and non-alcoholic beverage and doughnut on the morning cruise to St. Michaels.

The annual Chestertown Tea Party Festival, held over Memorial Day weekend, marks the anniversary of one of the area’s most notable historic events, when the citizens of Chestertown—in an act to show resistance to British rule—tossed a ship’s cargo of tea overboard into the Chester River in 1774. The festival’s Tea Toss Reenactment is the centerpiece of the event, which also includes a Friday night Block Party, Saturday 5K and 10-mile races, craft beer and local wine samples, craft vendors, street performances, a parade and more.
Chestertown Tea Party Classic and Run for Radcliffe – Wilmer Park, Chestertown

The Chestertown Tea Party Distance Classic and Run for Radcliffe, which features both 5K and 10-mile races, has been a part of the Chestertown Tea Party Festival for more than 40 years. Radcliffe Creek School changes children’s lives and by participating in the run, runners are helping make this possible. Participants must register! The proceeds from the run will benefit the Radcliffe Creek School Scholarship Fund.
Run to Remember Memorial Day 5K – Winterplace Park, Salisbury
Saturday, May 26th, 9–11 a.m.
Benefit the Wicomico War Veterans' Memorial at the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center this Memorial Day weekend by taking part in the Run to Remember Memorial Day 5K Run/Walk. Refreshments will be available following the race with awards presented to the top male and female finishers in five age categories. Walkers are welcome to take part in all or a portion of the race.
7th Annual Strawberry Chase 5K – Martin Sutton Park, Ridgely

Wear your red, white, and blue to honor our Veteran’s Service at the 8th Annual Strawberry Chase 5K. This race is in conjunction with the annual Lions Club Strawberry Festival. There will be food, vendor displays, flea market and craft sales, local non-profits will be open for business, parade at 12 noon, local music performances, shaded seating, free parking and the famous Ridgely Lions Club Strawberry Shortcake & ice cream!

Music Center International partners with The United States Air Force and the American Veterans Center to present the 10th Annual Memorial Day Choral Festival. Designed to honor our nation's veterans and fallen heroes through musical tribute, this grand concert will feature 300 singers representing choirs from throughout the United States, as they join with the United States Air Force Orchestra to foster greater attention toward and observe the true meaning of Memorial Day as a national holiday.

The parade, commemorating its fourteenth year, is our nation’s largest Memorial Day event, drawing hundreds of thousands of spectators to the National Mall to pay tribute to those who have served, are serving, and most importantly those who have made the ultimate sacrifice while in service to our country
