I've said it before, and I'll say it again. One of life's best combinations is having fun and contributing to a cause. And this Saturday, you'll get the chance to do both.
r
ARINC is hosting its weekly Summer at City Dock. Happy Robots and Brian, Mary and Neal will be on hand to provide musical entertainment, and food and drink will be available, provided by some of Naptown's best restaurants. Chick and Ruth's Delly is going to offer their world-famous jumbo lump grab cakes, and Jimmy John's will take on-the-spot orders, and deliver sandwiches down to the dock for festival attendees. Audience members are also encouraged to ing down snacks, and then head to some local restaurants and pubs for dinner.
r
That's not all, though. This Saturday's SCD is an awareness day to benefit the Anne Arundel SPCA. So, naturally, there's going to be lots of pet-themed entertainment. Frank Buckland and his Amazing Disc Docs are stopping by at 2 p.m. to wow the crowd with tricks and disc-flying fun. And, Select Confections is going to provide non-fat, yogurt based, all organic peanut butter doggie ice cream at $2 per cup. Paws Pet Boutique will also be at the Dock with dog gear for sale, and special raffles with treats to please your pup.
r
And, according to the event's Facebook page, if you're looking for a furry pal, this is the place to be.
r
Don't worry about missing out if you're going to be on the Shore, though. There's so much to do there this weekend!

Further down the Shore, Cam idge is having its annual Annie Oakley Festival. Featured music at the festival's main stage includes the Outlaw Valley Riders and Charm City Limits. DJ Rodney Payne is also going to perform between the live music sets. He'll be in a beer and wine garden area.

The Outlaws & Peacemakers, a troupe of Old West reenactors, and the dance group Cowboy Dancing Plain and Fancy, will be there to provide some themed entertainment. Other event highlights include target shooting, and face painting, and Carol's Western Wear store.
r
If you're looking to get out of Anne Arundel or the Shore, though, head over to Silver Spring this weekend. FestAfrica 2011 is taking place from Saturday through Sunday!
r
This cele ation features traditional African music and dance performances, fashion shows, arts & crafts, vendors, African cuisine, face painting, games, story telling, and a health fair. Phew!
