Ice cream and frosty treats are an absolute must for these scorching summer months. It’s the time when you can barely hold an ice cream cone for a second without the ingredients dripping out and running down your arm. It is what makes summer, summer. But there is always room to really up the ante and take frosty and frozen treats to a higher level. We’ve all had drumsticks, coated in chocolate and nuts. Instead, toss a little cayenne into the mix for some sweet heat. These ice cream cones are in a class all of their own.
Ingredients
12 sugar ice cream cones
2 cups dark chocolate melting wafers
¾ tsp. cayenne
½ cup finely chopped walnuts
Directions
Place a sheet of parchment paper on a clean, dry surface. Heat a pot of water over high heat until it is boiling. Place a glass bowl on top and add the melting wafers to the bowl. Stir them carefully until they are fully melted. Once fully melted, add in cayenne and stir to combine. Take the cones and dip them into the chocolate, ¼ of the way to the top. Move them away from the bowl and sprinkle the walnuts on top of the chocolate. Place the cone on parchment paper until it dries, about 1 hour.
