3 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
12 ounces dark beer
2 minced garlic cloves
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1 egg
2 teaspoons water

Directions

Heat the oven to 375 degrees. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, garlic, oregano, and thyme. Slowly mix in the beer to form a thick batter.

Beat the egg with the water. Grease an 8-inch loaf pan and spread the batter in the pan. Brush it with the egg glaze and bake for about 45 minutes, or until the crust is golden own and an inserted knife comes out clean. Let it cool on a wire rack for at least 10 minutes.
