By the time Memorial Day rolls around, we can hardly contain our excitement anymore. With a winter like the one we’ve had, there must be a celebration of the warmth and fun to come. Start the party with some great foods. Pink lemonade is just the ticket for a summer kick-off. Lemonade itself is classic but when it is pink – made by a splash or two of Grenadine – it has a great, sassy little edge.
Ingredients
1 cup freshly squeeze lemon juice
1 cup water
¾ cup sugar
3 Tbsp. Grenadine
6 cups cold water
Directions
Combine water and sugar in a sauce pan over medium heat. Heat until sugar fully dissolves. Pour sugar mixture into a pitcher. Pour lemon juice and Grenadine into the pitcher with the sugar. Top with cold water. Refrigerate for at least an hour before serving.
Makes approximately 6 cups of lemonade.
