Keeping with our Thanksgiving Countdown, one veggie you can always find on the table, and my personal favorite, Green Beans. Some people roast them with almonds and others throw it in a casserole, either way, you can always find a big pile of them on my plate, and for a good reason. Green beans, string beans, snap peas, whatever you want to call it, get them on your plate too!!
- Consuming green beans is a great way to watch your waistline. One cup of green beans has only 31 calories, 3.6 grams of sugar and virtually no fat.
- Green Beans contain no cholesterol so they can be considered very heart healthy. They also support heart health by lowering blood pressure and reducing inflammation.
- One cup of green beans only has 6.6 milligrams of sodium. Remember: All of these numbers are for fresh produce. If you buy canned green beans, be sure to rinse them before eating or choose a no-salt variety

Green Bean Casserole (Campbells.com)
- 1 ten and a half ounce can Campbell's Condensed Cream of Mushroom Soup, 98% Fat Free Cream of Mushroom Soup OR Condensed Unsalted Cream of Mushroom Soup
- 1/2 cup Milk
- 1 teaspoon Soy Sauce
- 4 cups cooked Green Beans
- 1 1/3 cup French's French Fried Onions
- Heat the oven to 350 degrees F. Stir the soup, milk, soy sauce, beans, and 2/3 cup onions in a 1.5 quart casserole dish. Season the mixture with salt and pepper
- Bake for 25 minutes or until hot. Stir the mixture. Sprinkle with remaining 2/3 cup onions
- Bake for another 5 minutes or until the onions are golden brown
Honey Garlic Green Beans (Plainchicken.com)
- 2 pounds fresh Green Beans
- 2 tablespoons Butter
- 4 tablespoons Honey
- 2 tablespoons Soy Sauce
- 4 Garlic Cloves, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon Salt
- 1/4 teaspoon Crushed Red Pepper Flakes
- In a large skillet, melt butter. Add green beans, cook stirring constantly over high heat until slightly blistered, about 2-3 minutes
- Whisk together honey, soy sauce, garlic, salt, and pepper. Pour over green beans. Continue cooking and stirring until beans are coated and the sauce stats to evaporate slightly, 2-3 minutes
Green Beans Almondine (The Modernproper.com)
- 1 pound Green Beans
- 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
- 6 Garlic Cloves, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup slivered Almonds
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- In a large skillet, heat 1 teaspoon olive oil over medium heat. Add the almonds and toast until golden brown, about 2 minutes. Set aside.
- Heat the remaining olive oil in the same skilled over medium-high heat. Add in the green beans and cook until green beans turn bright green in color and begin to soften, about 6-8 minutes
- Add in garlic and cook, stirring often until fragrant, about 1 more minute. Stir in almonds and salt stirring to combine everything for another minute
