You could spend all of your time this holiday season in stores or in the mall, waiting in lines, standing around and just generally feeling irritable. Or you can make your gifts instead and spend the holiday season doing fun things like caroling, drinking cocoa and enjoying family time. Thai chili dipping sauce makes a great food gift for both the Chinese food lover and the spice lover. Bonus? It is unbelievably easy to make! br
Ingredients
3 cloves garlic, peeled
2 red Jalapenos, seeded
1/4 cup white distilled vinegar
1/2 cup sugar
3/4 cup water
1 Tbsp. cornstarch
2 Tbsp. water
Directions
Combine garlic, jalapenos, vinegar, sugar and 3/4 cup water in a blender and puree. Transfer mixture to a sauce pan and ing to a boil. Lower heat to low and simmer, allowing mixture to thicken, about three minutes. Combine cornstarch and 2 Tbsp. water and whisk with a fork to create a slurry. Add cornstarch to the pan and simmer one more minute. The cornstarch mixture will cause the garlic and pepper to suspend in the sauce. Cool completely then transfer to a jar and refrigerate.
