But if the bird isn't the word when it comes to your holiday cele ation, that's OK. Even though I like turkey, it's not the star of the day to me. What really matters are the side dishes – mashed potatoes, corn casserole, green beans, sweet potatoes, and biscuits are just a few of the items that grace the table. So if someone were to replace that turkey with, say, a succulent duck dish or mouthwatering roast beef, the only one that would gasp in horror is Mother Tradition herself.
