The Easton EDC is dedicated to fostering sustainable economic growth, enhancing the quality of life, and preserving the unique character of Easton, Maryland. Since its founding, the Easton EDC has served as a catalyst for innovation and collaboration among businesses, local government, and community stakeholders.
At its core, economic development is defined by more than numbers and logistics; it is an ongoing process of serving those who call a place home by expanding the capacity of individuals, firms, and communities. Our overall goal is to increase the quality of life for our diverse populations in town, rather than just measuring standards of living. We achieve this by helping create a strong foundation of job creation and retention, comprehensive research of the region, and programming that fosters a sense of belonging for locals and visitors.
We support economic vitality through strategic initiatives that attract investment, promote entrepreneurship, and encourage responsible development. These efforts include championing the revitalization and preservation of our historic downtown through our Nationally Accredited Main Street Program and State Designated Arts & Entertainment District, supporting local industries, and promoting Easton as a premier destination to live, work, and visit.
We recognize that progress is not merely change for its own sake. Economic durability and vitality have room for improvement while honoring the originality and personality that make this town special. We achieve this through continued collaboration with community members, which supports our community’s goals—whether they are short-term or long-term, large or small, Indigenous or non-Indigenous. By aligning our rural community values with economic opportunity, the Easton EDC plays a vital role in shaping a vibrant, resilient, and inclusive future for the town of Easton and its surrounding region.
