Acting 1: The Actor's Tools
This five week class invites students to isolate, explore, and integrate each fundamental tool in the actor’s instrument to create dynamic characters. Activate the body, exercise the voice, engage the mind and release your imagination. Each class allows time for the actor’s to explore these tools and then integrate them in the context of story and text. Students learn to use themselves in new and exciting ways as they segue their own stories into workable text to practice sound text analysis strategies. This class culminates in monologue work and peer critique, and is a requirement to take Acting 2 and 3. NO CLASS FEB 18 This class and program is now full. Acting 2: The Actor's Process
Prerequisite: Acting 1. This six-week course illuminates the process of partnering onstage. Strengthen the ability to listen and respond authentically, connect to impulse, and pursue necessary objectives resulting in conflict. This class culminates in a performance of scenes for an Everyman Theatre Resident Company Member. Memorization is expected. NO CLASS APRIL 13
Acting 3: The Actor's Performance
Prerequisite: Acting 1 & 2. This ten-week class invites students into the rehearsal room. From start to finish, students are taught the tenets of the professional rehearsal space as they work on an established piece of theatre. This class culminates in a stage performance for family, friends, and invite guests. Memorization is expected. Note, we add Friday rehearsals on June 5, 10. Rehearsals run until 10 pm for the final two weeks leading to performance.
