Learn about some of Maryland’s misunderstood wildlife that play important roles in our ecosystems. This talk by DNR Wildlife Education and Outreach Specialist Kerry Wixted will feature the importance of Maryland’s native bees, why we should care about their wasp relatives, and information on unique spiders that “sing,” dance, and raid. The talk will also delve into local mammal species and will bust myths about bats, foxes, and coyotes. Information on local snakes, why we should care about them, and ways to help all wildlife in any backyard setting will round out the program.
