Academy Art Museum: Anita Groener: To the Edge of Your World
Academy Art Museum 106 South Street, Maryland 21601
The Academy Art Museum presents its first international exhibition, To the Edge of Your World, by acclaimed Dutch-Irish artist Anita Groener, on view from August 16 to October 26. Using natural and repurposed materials, Groener explores powerful themes of loss, migration, and resilience through intricate drawings, sculptures, and a new animated film, Shelter, created in collaboration with the Talbot Interfaith Shelter. Inspired by her travels through the American South and regions affected by global conflict, Groener’s work invites reflection on memory, displacement, and humanity’s enduring strength.
An opening reception will be held on August 16 from 2–4 PM, with the world premiere of Shelter that day and a special showing on August 17. Admission is free.
