Anne Arundel Women Giving Together Presents: TRANSPORTATION: A Route to Jobs, Education, Health Care and Food
to
Florestano Building Auditorium West Campus Dr, Arnold, Maryland 21012
Access to transportation equals access to jobs, food, healthcare and education. Inefficient or expensive transportation makes the lives of low income families even more challenging. Representatives from three of our 2019 grantee organizations confirmed that lack of a sufficient public transportation system in Anne Arundel County further burdens clients who must spend additional time and money to reach needed services.
Join us on October 2 to learn more about how inadequate transportation creates additional hardship for struggling families, and gain insight into the specific issues directly impacting our county residents. Guest speakers include Dr. Celeste Chavis, Associate Professor in Transportation and Urban Infrastructure Studies at Morgan State University, and Dr. Pamela Brown, Executive Director of the Anne Arundel County Partnership for Children Youth and Families. Both the Anne Arundel Department of Transportation and the Office of the County Executive have been invited to close our program by casting a vision for the future of transportation in our county.
This event is free, open to the public and accessible to persons with disabilities.
