Join us at Unity Church Hill Nursery for the first of our "Beyond the Backyard" workshop series. We hope to inspire you to think "beyond the backyard" when integrating edible plants into your landscape. Every Saturday morning in April starting at 9 am join us for a brief discussion and demonstration. We will start with seed-starting this Saturday and then continue the following Saturdays with container gardening, edible landscaping, and transforming your lawn into a garden.
April 6th: Seed-Starting. Learn the ins and outs of growing your own transplants with Theresa Mycek, our farm manager. She will cover topics such as planning and scheduling, which plants are best to start ahead indoors, suitable containers, what kind of seed starting mix to use, light, water, and nutrient needs, when to transplant and how to harden off your starts to prepare them for planting outside. We have seed starting mix and seeds available for purchase.
