The Day We Walked on the Moon
On July 20, 1969, the world watched in awe as humanity first set foot on the moon. Celebrate the 50th anniversary of this incredible achievement at a special screening of the Smithsonian Channel’s new documentary, “The Day We Walked on the Moon” right here in Annapolis.
This documentary marks man’s first steps on the lunar surface and tells the story of this defining moment in our history. Interviews with key figures in Mission Control, contemporary astronauts and the families of Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong shine a light on how dangerous the mission really was and how close it came to failure numerous times.
The screening is free, but registration is required.
