Photo Camp for Boys - Summer ArtCamp
After years of successful photo camps for girls, we heard you loud and clear that you wanted a camp just for boys and we’ve finally made it happen!
Over the week-long camp we will introduce students to the art of photography as a tool to capture the student’s world and develop an identity and sense of creative self in that world. We teach students to learn to become image-makers in their own lives, building confidence through mastering the technical aspects of photography and teamwork within the class.
Young people’s worlds are full of images. We want to give students back control and motivation to create and tell their own stories. Stories they can be proud of.
The camp will be taught by Pulitzer Prize winning photojournalist Joshua McKerrow, a longtime Annapolis resident and artist. Instruction will explore the basics of photography, the use of lights and motion, portraiture, photojournalism, and experimental photography. Students will create, edit, and critique their images in a supportive and fun environment.
This camp will be taught using DSLR or mirrorless cameras. Students will need to provide their own camera & memory card. If you have any questions about purchasing or renting a camera you can contact Alison Harbaugh at: info@artfarmannapolis.com
Sessions are 6 hours each day, Monday-Friday (9am-3pm). Campers will need to pack their lunch for each day.
