Church of the Nativity and Holy Comforter
With honesty and humor, Front Row Seat examines the path taken by a small, diverse church in Baltimore facing a pandemic, a social justice revolution, and, of course, internal strife (it is, after all, a church.) The congregation and staff to find ways to stay in community – to stay a church. Originally conceived as a book, it was recreated as chamber theater with legendary actors Lily Knight and Nicholas Hormann, both based in Los Angeles, musicians from Ensemble Galilei based in Chicago, directed by the extraordinary Steven Robman, and written by Annapolis musician and poet, Carolyn Surrick. This deep look at life in a world we never imagined is as soulful, funny, and beautiful, as it is profound and deeply human. Free!
