Kim Kelly Photography Grand Opening
to
Severna Park Art Gallery 537 A Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard , Severna Park, Maryland

For Kim, photography took root when she received her first camera, a Canon AT-1 (film) as a college graduation gift and she has continued to shoot ever since. She eventually migrated over to digital technology (still shooting with Canon products) and her passion for capturing images continued to grow. She loves participating in photography workshops, seminars, clubs and meetup groups. Kim served as the field trip director for three years for the Digital Photography Club of Annapolis.
She currently makes her home near Annapolis and considers the Chesapeake Bay region, with its extensive shorelines, her playground. Alarms going off at O’Dark Thirty or shooting well after the sun has set, are commonplace for Kim. Through her images, she hopes to invoke a curiosity in the viewer to ask questions about her subjects. Many of her works feature old workboats or nautical treasures found in and around the tributaries of the Bay. She is also passionate about photographing nature, wildlife, landscapes, travel, and architecture, etc. As she likes to say, “I’ll shoot anything, but people.”
Kim’s works have been displayed in a local Annapolis restaurant, in juried shows at Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts and Quiet Waters Park and in several publications including Chesapeake Bay Magazine and Maryland Dept. of Natural Resources 2019 Calendar, to name a few.
