Did you know Mother’s Day has its origins in the Civil War? Social Activist Ann Jarvis first created Mother’s Day to teach women how to better prepare food and clean their homes to prevent the spread of diseases. It later became a national holiday in 1914. Join the Riversdale Kitchen Guild on May 15 from 12:00 to 3:30 as they explore 19th-century recipes related to Mother’s Day. Tours of the historic house will also be available.
