Couture Tree Competition: Example Design

The Lord Baltimore Hotel announced today the return of its annual Couture Tree Competition this holiday season and is currently seeking decorative designs from local businesses, nonprofits and individual artists. The hotel is looking to display 25 trees throughout the hotel’s lobby and mezzanine level for families and guests to enjoy from December 1, 2019 through January 10, 2020.  

Those interested in participating in the competition must submit an original design sketch by November 15. A jury will select top designs to be entered into to the final competition. All selected participants will receive a mannequin. The Lord Baltimore Hotel’s Couture Tree Competition is open to all individuals, nonprofits and area businesses.  

“This is a holiday tradition we look forward to bringing back year after year,” said Onahlea Shimunek, general manager for the Lord Baltimore Hotel. 

The designers of the winning trees – one for the tree designed by an individual or area business and one for the tree designed by a nonprofit organization – will be voted on by guests of the hotel’s private holiday party in early December, and will each receive a prize of $750.
