Ronnie Leigh at The Mainstay
On Friday, September 6 the Mainstay in Rock Hall is excited to usher in the Chestertown Jazz Festival with a special appearance by jazz/ R & B singer Ronnie Leigh.
Once upon a time the Mainstay planned a concert aboard The Packet Boat. The two hour ride along the Chester River promised an unbeatable evening of great vocal jazz, a pleasant cruise, a delicious buffet and good company. But on the day of the event, 100 degree temperatures forced a cancellation of the cruise. We quickly informed our guests that the show would go on inside the Mainstay that evening. Some chose to stay home, swayed by the winning combination of great music on the water. More than half of the guest list followed us to the Mainstay. Following the show one of the attendees exclaimed, “My God, this fellow Ronnie Leigh is the reincarnation of Al Jarreau.
Ronnie's career has had him on stages across the country and in Canada, and as far across the Pond as Istanbul, Turkey. He has been a headliner at jazz festivals, major concert stages, and has opened for or played with a range of performers, including Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, Smoky Robinson, David Sanborn, The Yellow Jackets, Spiro Gyra, Jon Hendricks, and Etta Jones.
DON'T MISS THIS SHOW!!!
